About Corals Auction

Bidding on an EC auction is a great way to get the coral you want at a bargain price. You can name a starting price or define an automated max bid limit and you bid against other buyers. You can watch the coral you want to see how the bidding is going. When the auction ends, the highest bidder wins the coral and completes the purchase from “My Bids & Won Auctions” page.

Remember, a bid is considered a binding EC contract. That means that when you bid on a coral, you’re committing to buy it if you win. You have 2 working day to pay your won auctions. Please pay as soon as possible to avoid cancellation. If after 2 days we don’t receive the payment, the next highest bidder will be the winner. Repeated unpaid auctions may lead to a permanent ban from our online shop. Please use our auction system with responsibility.

Automatic bidding using max bid limit

Automatic bidding is the easiest way to bid on an EC coral auction. Simply enter the highest price you’re willing to pay for the coral, and our system will do the rest for you. When someone else bids, the system will place a “1 unit bid increment” on your behalf to keep you in the lead and to ensure you buy at the best possible price.

If someone outbids you and the max bid limit is reached, our auction system will send you an email to let you know so you can decide if you want to increase your max bid limit.

To use the max bid limit option, simply enter the maximum amount you feel comfortable with and click “BID”. Then our auction system will bid on your behalf “1 bid increment” to keep you in the lead, but only up to that max bid limit that you placed. Each “1 unit bid increment” value will be displayed below the price as shown in the image below.

Why you’ve been outbid immediately

If you get outbid immediately after placing a bid, it’s likely another bidder is using automatic bidding and has a maximum limit that’s higher than yours. You’ll need to bid again in order to be the highest bidder.

Permanent promotion and auction corals

The system will count the won auctions as part of our permanent promotion of +6 coral for the 10% discount but will apply the discount only for the non-auction ones. Example: If you have 5 won corals and 1 WYSIWYG in the cart, the system will count 6 corals for the permanent promotion, but will apply the discount only for the WYSIWYG coral. The won corals will not have any discount.
